Hi There!

I am Karen ---but I'm definitely not "A Karen" LOL! I would like to introduce myself to you by telling you a little about me.

Growing up I spent many days at my Grandparents' farm which is where my love for animals stems from. I always loved taking pictures, but my true love of photography came when I was in college and took a photography class as an elective. I was immediately hooked!

While in college I got a part time job at a one hour lab and portrait studio. I met many fabulous Milwaukee area photographers there whose knowledge in portrait photography was priceless. I ended up being the photographer at my job and also photographed weddings. From there I branched into pet photography, professionally shooting cat shows and many other events.

Then a turning point happened in my life -- I had kids! My life of a traveling photographer was traded in for motherhood. I can honestly say I never knew the true meaning of selfless unconditional love until I had my kids.

Looking now at my two teenage boys, time goes by quickly. Thinking back I realize how truly blessed I am. Watching them experience life through innocent eyes is amazing and magical.

Some of the most special moments I cherish with them was watching their interaction with animals. Holding a baby kitten or puppy, riding a pony, snuggling bunnies, hatching out chicks, and bottle-feeding goats and calves have been such heartwarming moments for us. Watching them brought me back to when I was a child at my Grandparents' farm. This is the inspiration behind Alpine Ranch Photography.
